Large-format industrial roof system on a Gulf Coast plant — Pillars of Seven
A Pillars of Seven Service

IndustrialRoofing.Gulf Coast.

01 — At a Glance

Hurricane-rated roofs on operating plants.

Pillars of Seven installs and maintains large-format industrial roof systems across the Texas Gulf Coast — from the Houston Ship Channel and Pasadena to Baytown, Freeport, Texas City, Beaumont, and Port Arthur.

Every assembly is engineered for Gulf Coast wind loads, scheduled around plant turnarounds, and executed by crews qualified for classified-area coordination on active refineries and petrochem sites.

02 — Roof Systems

Industrial-scale systems.

Six industrial roofing capabilities cover the majority of Gulf Coast scope — engineered for hurricane wind loads, large flat-roof footprints, and the operating constraints of active plants.

01 / Hurricane TPO

Hurricane-Rated TPO

Mechanically attached and adhered TPO assemblies engineered to HVHZ and Gulf Coast windstorm requirements. Reinforced membrane, enhanced fastening patterns, and edge-metal details rated for Cat-3+ wind loads.

02 / EPDM

Industrial EPDM

Ballasted, mechanically attached, and fully adhered EPDM systems for warehouses, distribution centers, and process buildings with large flat-roof footprints. Long service life with minimal seam maintenance.

03 / Modified Bitumen

Multi-Ply Modified Bitumen

Two-ply and three-ply SBS and APP systems with granulated cap sheets for plant rooftops with heavy mechanical traffic, hot piping penetrations, and the abuse of an operating environment.

04 / Metal Retrofit

Metal Roof Retrofit

Standing-seam and through-fastened metal roof retrofits over existing assemblies on warehouses and process buildings. Insulation upgrade, structural verification, and minimal-tear-off installation paths.

05 / Turnaround Scopes

Turnaround-Window Roofing

Pre-scoped roof replacement and major repair work executed inside planned plant shutdowns. Materials staged, crews on standby, and completion coordinated to the owner restart schedule.

06 / Coatings & Maintenance

Coatings & Asset Management

Silicone and acrylic restoration coatings to extend the life of existing membranes on operating plants. Annual roof asset surveys, infrared moisture scans, and portfolio-level maintenance contracts.

03 — Process

From asset survey
to restart.

Five stages built around how industrial owners actually run their plants — survey, plan, stage, execute inside the window, document for asset records.

1
Day 1

Asset Survey

On-site walk with operations and maintenance, infrared moisture scan where needed, drone imagery, and existing-condition documentation tied to the plant asset register.

2
Week 1

System Engineering

Wind-load engineering, assembly recommendation, manufacturer warranty comparison, and an itemized estimate aligned to the next turnaround window.

3
Pre-TA

Permits & Staging

Permits pulled, windstorm documentation prepared, hot-work permits coordinated with plant safety, materials staged, and JSA reviewed with the owner EHS team.

4
Window

Execute Inside the TA

Self-perform crews work to manufacturer spec inside the planned outage. Daily progress reports, photo documentation, and continuous coordination with the turnaround coordinator.

5
Restart

Warranty & Records

Manufacturer warranty filed, workmanship warranty issued, as-built drawings provided in the format the plant records team uses, and asset survey baseline established.

04 — Projects

They scoped the roof during pre-TA, staged everything ahead of the outage, and finished inside the window. We restarted on schedule. That is the only model that works on an operating plant.

05 — FAQ

Questions we hear on plant walks.

If your question isn't below, call (832) 548-0660 or request a quote. We respond inside one business day.

Are your roof assemblies engineered for Gulf Coast hurricane loads?
Yes. Every system we install on the Gulf Coast is engineered to the wind-load requirements of the local code tier — HVHZ and windstorm-zone assemblies with enhanced fastening, reinforced membrane, and edge-metal details rated for Cat-3 and higher wind events. Engineered assemblies and windstorm documentation are provided at close-out.
Can you work inside our turnaround window?
Yes. Turnaround scheduling is how we run industrial roof scopes — we pre-scope during the engineering phase, stage materials and crews ahead of the outage, and execute inside the planned shutdown. Restart-day completion is the deliverable. We size crews to the window and run multiple shifts when the schedule demands it.
Are your crews qualified for classified-area work?
Yes. Our crews carry TWIC clearance, OSHA 30, plant-specific orientation, and the contractor safety qualifications required for refinery and petrochem sites. We coordinate hot-work permits, area classification, and JSA review with owner EHS teams before any work starts on a classified rooftop.
What roof systems work best on industrial plants?
For large flat-roof footprints with heavy mechanical traffic and hot piping penetrations, multi-ply modified bitumen and reinforced TPO are the workhorses. EPDM still has a place on warehouses and distribution centers. Metal retrofits make sense when the existing roof structure can carry the additional load. We specify the system that fits the actual building, not a one-size answer.
Can you maintain roofs across a multi-site portfolio?
Yes. Portfolio service contracts are a major part of our industrial roofing work — annual asset surveys, infrared moisture scans, preventive repairs, and a single point of accountability for owners with multiple Gulf Coast sites. Documentation is delivered in whatever format your plant records team uses.
How fast can you mobilize after a hurricane or storm event?
For industrial owners with existing relationships, we target 24-hour mobilization for emergency tarping and leak isolation, 72 hours for full assessment, and an insurance-aligned rebuild plan within the first week. Call (832) 548-0660 to set up a master service agreement that locks in storm-response SLAs.
